Say hello to Nathan! He just turned 11 years old this past summer. Nathan was a part of our hosting program in 2015 and spent 3 weeks in the US with his host family. Here is what they shared with us:
“Nathan is strong willed, outgoing, and curious. He likes to give and receive hugs! He likes going to church and especially liked singing. He learned several songs in English, and he did learn a lot of English while he was here. He likes to play the Uno Attack game and going outside to ride a bike when the weather permits. He also enjoys going to help his host dad with the pigs on our farm. We believe he will do best in a family that is ready to be very firm, structured, and consistent with him. He has a heart that desires to be loved like every waiting child.”
His host family did face some behavior issues while Nathan was in their home, but with the help of a Chinese speaking teacher, his behavior improved.
At his orphanage, Nathan’s nannies say he is lively, optimistic, and extroverted. He communicates well with others, and even though he has cerebral palsy, he can walk independently, hop, and stand on one leg. He likes to be active, and he really enjoys riding bikes and scooters with his friends! He is very interested in electronics and computers, and he will often help his nanny with her phone.
Nathan is in the 4th grade this year at school. He does not like to study very much, but he gets all of his work done with some guidance from his nannies. They say he is very smart, but he does need some extra encouragement.
Nathan is a very sweet boy who needs the love a forever family!
