Child's Code: Sean
Birth Date: 6/15/2006
Gender: Male
Description: Meet Sean! He first arrived at his orphanage when he was just 1 day old. He is now 10 years old and will celebrate his 11th birthday in June. His nannies tell us he is a friendly and easy-going kid! He is receiving his education through the foster care system and likes going school. His favorite subject is music and he really enjoys singing! Sean likes to play outside, draw, and put together jig-saw puzzles with his friends. He has great self-care skills and is able to communicate his wants and needs to his caretakers, though his pronunciation is a bit unclear. His nannies say he is pretty well-behaved and he rarely gets upset, but if he gets angry, he likes to be touched on the head and encouraged.

Sean spent 3 weeks in the US with his host family as part of our Winter 2016 Hosting Program! Here is what his host family shared with us:

“Sean is a very sweet, well-mannered and inquisitive boy. He is very interested in how things operate such as the washer/dryer, mixer, dishwasher, etc. He has a very relaxed personality and rarely seems upset or bored. Whatever you ask him to do, he does it. He is very compliant and likes simple tasks. Sean likes to please and follows directions well, such as getting dressed, putting on shoes, getting in the car, using the restroom etc. He loves to eat but isn't too fond of American food yet! Outdoor activities, errands or rides in the car are his favorite. He loved sledding, building snowmen and playing in the snow with our kids.

He struggled to show interest in many toys or focus on a specific activity or craft I would give him, however, he seemed more relaxed and open to things the longer he stayed with us. He entertains himself well and likes to help with whatever you’re doing.

He has a fun sense of humor and loves being active with other kids playing tag or hide and seek. He would be a great addition to a family with kids around ages 3-5. He needs direction with certain tasks but is very amenable and willing to please!”

We are told that although Sean is almost 11, his development is closer to that of a much younger child.

Sean is a sweet boy who seems to have a lot of love in his heart! He just needs a family to share it with!
