This beautiful, outgoing young lady is Fu! She is 11 years old and will be turning 12 early next year. Fu has a very easy going personality and has no trouble making friends. She is respectful of others, eager to interact, and is a wonderful big sister to all of the other kids!
Even though Fu has a diagnosis of Cerebral Palsy, her nannies tell us it really does not interfere with her daily life. Her muscle tension is close to normal and she has no trouble walking – she does not require a walking aid of any kind! Her hands are flexible - she can grasp toys, pick up items, and write with a pencil. Her nannies feel her cognitive abilities are on par with her peers, too. In fact, they say she is a born leader who is eager to excel in everything she does!
Fu is very independent in her daily life. She has no trouble with self-care skills and she is always willing to lend a helping hand to her roommates and nannies. After meals she takes the initiative to help clear the table and sweep.
In terms of learning, Fu seems to catch on to new things quickly! She can recognize and write around 100 Chinese characters, and she knows how to piece together sounds into words. She can recite several nursery rhymes and ancient poems, recognize shapes and colors, do addition and subtraction, and count to 100!
Fu is a young lady with so much potential! Imagine what she could accomplish with the love and support of a forever family!
