Alicia needs a loving family

Alicia is a remarkable and resilient 9-year-old in need of a loving family. She demonstrates abilities and characteristics expected for her age. Excelling in communication and executive skills, she forms secure attachments and is emotionally adept, making her delightful to be around.

Academically, Alicia excels in mathematics, Spanish, scientific thinking, and computing, demonstrating a commitment to completing tasks. Alicia’s empathetic nature shines in establishing friendships. Her calm temperament enables active participation in group activities, adherence to rules, and recognition of authority figures. Her kindness extends to her peer group, engaging in play and resolving conflicts through verbal communication.

Moreover, Alicia’s joy is reinforced by positive adult support. She takes pride in personal grooming, favoring the color purple! Alicia desires to learn ballet and explore crafting. Her dream of becoming a veterinarian reflects her deep love for animals.

While Alicia demonstrates independence in her daily routines, she thrives in the supportive embrace of a loving and patient family that values open communication for the expression of emotions. In light of her past experiences with trauma and abuse, Alicia will benefit from ongoing therapy, a crucial element in her journey towards healing.

Additionally, as someone living with HIV, Alicia requires regular medical check-ups and prescribed medication. It’s important to note that raising a child with HIV has become more manageable than ever, thanks to advancements in medical treatment. We encourage you to delve deeper into pediatric HIV treatment to gain a comprehensive understanding.

Could your family be the nurturing environment that Alicia needs to continue her path to thriving? To discover more about Alicia and the potential joy she could bring to your family, we invite you to connect with our Colombia team promptly.

Colombia Program

In light of the many children in need of a permanent and loving family, CCAI launched its Colombia adoption program in 2020. Children eligible for adoption from Colombia tend to be older with varying degrees of medical needs. These resilient and hopeful children bring with them their rich and unique culture and history!

CCAI’s parent preparation resources give families the tools to welcome a special child into their hearts and home. Our Colombia adoption program is a fast-growing, robust program that offers both traditional and host-to-adopt adoption options for children of all ages and sibling groups!
