Andres needs a forever family

Andres is a remarkable 11-year-old boy with a particular fondness for basketball. In addition to basketball, he enjoys riding skateboards and bikes and playing football – proving that his limb difference does not define him. Andres needs a forever family!

Andres has had a rough start to life and has further endured multiple placements within the ICBF protective system, adding to his complex history. As a result, he exhibits many trauma responses, including behavior disorder, depression, and anxiety. He also has been diagnosed with cognitive delays. Andres would do best in a family that has experience with complex trauma and is willing to help him receive the mental health treatment he needs to heal from his early life experiences and reach his full potential.

Andres also has a congenital malformation in his right hand; however, he has defied limitations, handling it gracefully and engaging in typical activities for his age. His favorite subject in school is mathematics, reflecting his keen eagerness to learn.

He is not just an avid sports enthusiast but an affectionate and honest child, making genuine connections with those around him. In addition, he enjoys various activities in his free time, like painting, watching movies, and engaging in sports. He cherishes simple joys, such as going out, playing, receiving toys or new clothes, and relishing delicious meals. These moments reward his positive behavior and contribute to his continuous emotional growth.

Andres needs a forever family to help him soar!

Andres is looking for a family – a mother, father, and siblings, or a single mother with siblings – who can provide the love, support, and care he deserves. The ideal family for Andres would be one that can assist him in seeking appropriate medical care for his congenital deformities of the right hand and therapeutic care for his trauma and mental diagnoses.

Could you be Andres’ family? If you can provide love, understanding, and support for this incredible young boy, you might be the missing piece in his journey towards a brighter and happier future. Contact our Colombia team today to learn more about Andres and how you can make a lasting impact on his life!

CCAI’s Colombia Program

In light of the many children in need of a permanent and loving family, CCAI launched its Colombia adoption program in 2020. Children eligible for adoption from Colombia tend to be older with varying degrees of medical needs. These resilient and hopeful children bring with them their rich and unique culture and history!

CCAI’s parent preparation resources give families the tools to welcome a special child into their hearts and home. Our Colombia adoption program is a fast-growing, robust program that offers both traditional and host-to-adopt adoption options for children of all ages and sibling groups!
