Donovan needs a loving family
Donovan is a 3-year-old child who finds joy in music! He enjoys building with blocks, working on puzzles, drawing, painting, tearing paper, and playing with balls. Singing, dancing, and listening to nursery rhymes bring a smile to his face. He especially values time spent with caregivers, and those moments of connection help him feel safe and supported.
Donovan has made meaningful progress in his current foster home. He anticipates and recognizes daily routines, showing increased awareness of his surroundings. He benefits from structure, repetition, and consistent interaction that support his continued growth.
Donovan has been diagnosed with microcephaly, global developmental delay, and a speech and language development disorder. He experiences attentional challenges and has difficulty clearly expressing his needs.
Donovan also has some nutritional and medical needs. He is currently classified as underweight and stunted for his age. He requires a high-calorie, high-protein diet that includes all food groups and nutritional supplements like protein shakes. A clinical nutritionist should continue monitoring him.
In addition, Donovan needs ongoing care from medical specialists, regular developmental assessments, and up-to-date vaccinations. He benefits from a consistent sleep schedule, and frequent play and communication to support his developmental progress.
Donovan needs a family who will provide consistent care, emotional responsiveness, and a stable, nurturing environment. His caregivers should be patient, understanding, and committed to forming a secure attachment. They must be willing and able to access medical and developmental support services.
To ease his transition to a new family, it is suggested that the family provide photos, recordings of themselves reading or singing, and familiar-scented items to help him begin to recognize and feel comforted by his new surroundings.
