Jayden is a cheerful, affectionate 5-year-old boy who easily connects with both familiar caregivers and new people. While he sometimes needs extra reassurance in new environments—holding hands or staying close to a caregiver—he shows a strong desire for connection and trust in those he knows.
He is not a picky eater and enjoys meals like toast, steamed buns, and rice. Jayden feeds himself and is learning to manage spills with support. He drinks from a straw and can sip soup with a spoon when needed. Jayden falls asleep easily without needing comfort items and sleeps soundly through the night.
Jayden loves playing with toy cars and watching cartoons. When playing outside, he explores freely but often looks back to make sure a caregiver is nearby. His language is still developing; he uses simple words, sounds, and gestures to express himself. When upset, he responds well to comfort, hugs, and being offered a favorite toy. He is sensitive to tone of voice and does best with calm, positive redirection. With time and a supportive environment, earlier stress behaviors have become much less frequent.

In preschool, Jayden is part of a class with both typically developing children and children with special needs. Teachers describe him as easily frustrated at times but quick to calm down when guided. He stays more focused when seated near the front of the classroom and benefits from the extra support of a foster sibling who attends the same school.
Jayden deserves the love, support, and stability of a committed family who can meet him where he is and walk alongside him as he continues to grow at his own pace.
