Around the world, millions of children in orphanages and foster families are waiting for the love of a forever family. Many of these children have never had, or cannot remember, a positive family life, a warm embrace, a family vacation, or even a game of catch. They may not know what it is like to have a loving, caring family. CCAI’s orphan hosting program allows children to feel the love of a family.
Through the transformative power of hosting-to-adopt, these children can learn everyday social skills, receive an introduction to American culture and English, and experience the profound meaning of a loving family. This option is particularly beneficial for families considering adopting an older child, as it provides a unique opportunity to spend quality time together and truly get to know one another.
While we eagerly anticipate the return of hosting programs from China and Ukraine, it’s important to note that the two hosting programs CCAI is involved in are currently from Colombia and the Dominican Republic. This presents a unique and special opportunity for families considering adoption.
Orphan hosting is an excellent opportunity to get to know a child before adoption, and many forever families are created through orphan hosting programs!
La Casa de la Madre y el Niño in Colombia, one of the largest orphanages in the country, is partnering with CCAI and Project One-Forty-Three (P143) to bring children ages 8+ from Colombia to be part of the Summer 2024 Colombia Program.

With Host Orphans Worldwide, CCAI seeks adoption-minded host families to host tweens and teens. Often, this may be the last chance for a child to find a family before they age out of the Dominican child welfare system.
