CCAI needs YOUR HELP to find a forever family for a PRECIOUS two-year-old boy from Bulgaria!
Darling Marshall is a very sunny and lovable child who needs individual care and therapies to compensate for the missed time spent in the hospital and a neglectful family environment. In addition, Marshall needs a forever family to help him get the medical care and follow-up he needs for his condition of Cystic Fibrosis. His caregivers believe he has the potential to lead a regular and fulfilling life in a loving family that can meet his specific needs!
Marshall is in good general health with decreased muscle tone. He reaches for an object or a given toy, but the moment he feels that he has unintentionally held it, he lets go of his hand and pulls away as if frightened. As of yet, he does not know how to hold a toy, a book, a pencil and use them as intended. Sometimes when Marshall uses a walker, he shows curiosity. He opens and closes drawers and accessible cabinets.
Marshall seeks out his foster parent and feels calmer in their presence and he smiles when spoken to. He’s not speaking yet, but he makes sounds and will wave his hand bye-bye. Marshall listens to and watches cartoons and prefers musical toys.
Precious Marshall needs a forever family to welcome him and meet his needs.

CCAI placed its first Bulgarian child in 2015; the program has grown ever since! Like most intercountry adoption programs today, Bulgaria places older children, children with special medical needs, and/or sibling groups. The most significant “need” is for families open to children eight and above and children with medical conditions. In addition, families open to children with Down syndrome can often be matched in as little as 6-12 months from dossier submission!
